Centers and institutes have been significant contributors to the rich intellectual history of this campus, and we are fortunate to have a number of vibrant entities and practitioners who invest in the vitality of scholarship and applied research at Sacramento State. Centers and institutes often take form to address broad-based issues which may span department or even college structures as well as the more narrow confines of many disciplines. As an institution, we utilize the more adaptive forms of centers and institutes which can, in their flexibility, address the changing scope of problems, issues or agendas of a critical mass of faculty and which can be established, eliminated, or modified to accommodate opportunity or change.
